Instrumentation Engineer – SCADA & Refrigeration Commissioning

Job summary

GEA Grade in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer with 5+ years of experience in industrial refrigeration systems to lead field commissioning, troubleshoot control systems, and coordinate activities with project leads, clients and contractors.

You will check electrical and control drawings, develop SCADA/PLC programs, train staff and client technicians, support commissioning, witness mechanical completion, and travel within the MENA region as required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commissioning industrial refrigeration systems.
• Strong knowledge of SCADA programming and on-site troubleshooting.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Strong understanding of refrigeration products and overall system integration.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to interpret technical documents such as electrical schematics and piping diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Check all electrical and control design drawings.
• Troubleshoot and inspect industrial refrigeration plant control systems.
• Train GRADE staff and client technicians and engineers.
• Perform required service and maintenance for refrigeration equipment including electrical SCADA and PLC-related faults.
• Develop and prepare system programs for projects including SCADA and PLC programming.
• Support commissioning of industrial refrigeration plants.
• Manage and coordinate testing and commissioning activities in liaison with project leads clients and contractors.
• Witness and verify mechanical completion and pre-commissioning activities.
• Carry out hands-on dynamic system commissioning.
• Manage and coordinate commissioning teams including subcontractors and vendors.
• Provide technical guidance to subcontractors to ensure operational acceptance tests meet required standards.
• Coordinate commissioning processes with owners contractors and equipment suppliers.
• Travel within the MENA region as required.
