Job summary

A leading Oil & Gas company in Abu Dhabi is looking for an experienced Instrumentation Technician. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in instrumentation maintenance, with expertise in PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, calibration, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. This full-time, permanent position offers competitive compensation and requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.

Qualifications

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain and troubleshoot transmitters, analyzers, control valves, PLC/DCS systems, and ESD/FGS safety systems.

  • Perform calibration, loop checks, functional tests, and diagnostics.

  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance tasks.

  • Ensure compliance with ISA/IEC standards and safety regulations.

  • Prepare calibration reports, maintenance documents, and records.

  • Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and operations teams.

  • Support system upgrades, modifications, and shutdown work.

  • Conduct RCA for repeated instrumentation failures.

  • Manage spare parts, calibration tools, and vendor coordination.

  • Train and support junior instrumentation technicians.

As our ideal candidate, you should have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation, Control, or Electrical Engineering.

  • Minimum 8 years of instrumentation maintenance experience in the Oil & Gas sector.

  • Strong technical knowledge of PLC, DCS, SCADA, and field instrumentation.

  • Experience with hazardous area (Ex/ATEX) instrumentation.

  • Strong understanding of PTW, LOTO, and process safety systems.
