Job summary

AECOM is seeking a detail-oriented Inspector - Structural to join our Abu Dhabi team. You will conduct thorough structural inspections on building sites, verify compliance with UAE codes and project specifications, and document findings with precision to support quality assurance.

The role requires a civil/structural degree and 8+ years' inspection experience, with strong reporting skills and the ability to coordinate with contractors and engineers in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Job Description

We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Inspector - Structural to join our team in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive structural inspections on building sites, ensuring all construction work meets established specifications, building codes, and safety standards. You will play a critical role in maintaining quality assurance and identifying any structural deficiencies before they become significant issues. This position requires a methodical approach, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment.

• Conduct detailed structural inspections of building sites, including foundations, framing, concrete work, and other structural elements
• Analyze construction materials, workmanship, and installation methods for compliance with approved plans and specifications
• Document inspection findings through photographs, measurements, and detailed notes
• Prepare comprehensive inspection reports identifying defects, non-conformances, and areas requiring corrective action
• Verify adherence to UAE building codes, international standards, and project-specific requirements
• Identify safety hazards and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety protocols
• Coordinate with construction teams, contractors, and project managers to communicate inspection results and required remedial actions
• Maintain organized records of all inspections, reports, and correspondence
• Perform follow-up inspections to verify that identified issues have been properly addressed
• Collaborate with structural engineers and other professionals to resolve complex technical issues

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in civil/structural
• 8+ years of experience required
• Proven experience conducting structural inspections on building sites or in construction quality assurance roles
• Strong knowledge of building codes, construction standards, and structural engineering principles
• Proficiency in analyzing structural systems, materials, and construction methodologies
• Excellent technical report writing and documentation skills
• Familiarity with inspection tools, equipment, and digital documentation systems
• Experience with high-rise or complex building projects (preferred)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
