Job summary

Stafmed is recruiting a Consultant Infectious Diseases for a full-time position at a leading hospital in the UAE. The role covers diagnosis, management, and prevention of complex infectious diseases with a focus on antimicrobial stewardship and high-quality patient care.

You will work in a progressive healthcare environment emphasizing clinical excellence, patient safety, and infection prevention. Requires board certification and eligibility for DHA/DOH/MOHAP licensing; excellent communication

Qualifications

• Board certification in Infectious Diseases or Internal Medicine with subspecialty training in Infectious Diseases.
• Recognised Tier 1 qualification (ABMS, Canadian RC, UK CCT/CCST) or equivalent.
• Minimum 3–5 years post-specialisation experience in Infectious Diseases.
• Eligibility for Consultant-level licensing with DHA, DOH, or MOHAP.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and management of infectious diseases.
• Diagnose and manage bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections.
• Manage infections in immunocompromised and critically ill patients.
• Develop and implement antimicrobial treatment plans.
• Consult inpatient and outpatient infectious disease cases.
• Support antimicrobial stewardship and appropriate antibiotic use.
• Collaborate with microbiologists and multidisciplinary teams.
• Guide infection prevention and control measures.
• Participate in governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Support medical education and departmental development.
