Job summary

SPERTON is recruiting a Maintenance Technician to oversee equipment maintenance in a UAE-based plastics manufacturing environment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot breakdowns, and support root-cause analysis to keep production running safely and reliably.

Candidates should have 2–6 years in industrial maintenance, be familiar with injection/blow moulding equipment, and have basic PLC/HMI/VFD knowledge. A strong safety mindset and good documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of experience in industrial maintenance; plastic manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Experience with injection moulding and related auxiliary equipment.
• Basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Basic knowledge of PLC, HMI, VFD/servo systems, and automation components.
• Ability to use a multimeter and other approved testing equipment safely.
• Good troubleshooting, problem-solving, teamwork, and documentation skills.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and preventive maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Attend breakdowns of injection moulding, blow moulding, EBM/IBM, printing, and auxiliary equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, inspections, and component replacements as per approved checklists.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
• Maintain and support compressors, air dryers, chillers, pumps, and cooling-water systems.
• Inspect and troubleshoot motors, sensors, control panels, contactors, starters, VFDs/servos, PLC/HMI systems, and interlocks, as applicable.
• Maintain hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, pneumatic systems, solenoid valves, and pressure circuits.
• Follow safety procedures, including LOTO, PTW, PPE, electrical isolation, and machine guarding.
• Maintain maintenance job cards, spare-parts consumption records, and shift handover documentation.
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce repeated machine breakdowns.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager for spare parts, major repairs, and technical issues.
