Job summary

FIVE Hotels and Resorts is seeking an HVAC Technician in Dubai to maintain and repair hotel HVAC and refrigeration systems, including AHUs, FCUs, and chillers. The role requires a trade certificate, 2–3 years in luxury hotel settings, and flexibility for shifts.

Qualifications

• Diploma, Certification or equivalent in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as HVAC Technician or similar in Luxury Hotel.
• Valid HVAC / Refrigeration Trade Certification or equivalent per Local Authorities, with additional technical certs a plus.
• Experience with hotel HVAC systems, AHUs, FCUs, chillers, cooling towers and related controls is advantageous.
• Solid knowledge of HVAC equipment, ventilation, pumps, compressors, and temperature control in hospitality settings.
• Strong preventive and corrective maintenance understanding to keep systems reliable.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform meticulous inspection, preventive maintenance, servicing and repairs of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
• Test, diagnose, troubleshoot and calibrate equipment while following local regulations and FIVE safety requirements.
• Respond promptly to HVAC breakdowns to minimize disruption and maintain comfort.
• Identify and resolve faults in mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and control systems with precision.
• Inspect and service AHUs, FCUs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps and related HVAC equipment.
• Monitor temperature, humidity and air quality across guest areas and back-of-house.
• Support Building Management System (BMS) operations and energy-efficient initiatives.
• Conduct safety checks to detect hazards and safeguard guests and staff.
• Collaborate with Engineering on renovations and new installations.
• Maintain records for audits and compliance.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
• Research new HVAC technologies to improve efficiency and reliability.

Compensation

• A fixed monthly salary of AED 2,000 offered as part of this exciting career opportunity.

What We’re Looking For

• A Diploma, Certification or equivalent Qualification in HVAC, Refrigeration, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience as an HVAC Technician or in a similar role within a Luxury Hotel is preferred.
• Valid HVAC / Refrigeration Trade Certification or equivalent qualification as mandated by Local Authorities, with a preference for additional technical certifications.
• Previous experience in hotel HVAC systems, air-conditioning equipment, refrigeration systems, chilled water systems, AHUs, FCUs, and advanced troubleshooting techniques will be advantageous.
• Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC equipment, ventilation systems, pumps, compressors, cooling towers, chillers, BMS controls, and temperature control systems tailored to Hospitality Environments.
• Strong understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures, ensuring HVAC systems operate efficiently and reliably.
• A Proactive Nature, coupled with a meticulous Eye for Detail, ensures every aspect of the Operation is perfectly curated.
• Superior Problem-Solving Skills and the competence to Exceed Expectations in dynamic and competitive operational environments.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on the requirements of FIVE.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs Meticulous inspection, preventive maintenance, servicing, and repairs across all HVAC and refrigeration systems, ensuring Uninterrupted ‘FIVE-Styled’ Guest experiences.
• Conducts Comprehensive testing, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and calibration of HVAC equipment while maintaining Strict Compliance with local regulations, international standards, and FIVE’s safety requirements.
• Responds Rapidly and Effectively to HVAC breakdowns and emergencies, minimising disruption and maintaining comfortable environmental conditions throughout all Guest and Operational Areas.
• Identifies and Resolves mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, airflow, temperature, and control-system faults with Precision and Efficiency, guaranteeing Flawless Operational Continuity across Front- and Back-of-House.
• Inspects, services, and maintains AHUs, FCUs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, compressors, ventilation fans, exhaust systems, and associated HVAC equipment.
• Monitors and maintains optimal temperature, humidity, airflow, and indoor air quality across guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, kitchens, back-of-house areas, and other operational spaces.
• Supports the operation and optimisation of the Building Management System (BMS) and HVAC control systems, ensuring accurate monitoring and reliable performance.
• Conducts Rigorous safety checks to Detect and Eliminate potential HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical hazards, safeguarding Guests, ‘FIVERs,’ and property.
• Performs refrigerant checks, leak detection, pressure testing, filter replacement, coil cleaning, lubrication, and other routine HVAC servicing as required.
• Supports Energy-Efficient HVAC solutions and sustainable practices that align with FIVE’s Commitment to Innovation and Environmental Responsibility.
• Collaborates closely with the Engineering Team on renovation, refurbishment, and expansion projects, ensuring HVAC installations and modifications are executed to the required standards.
• Maintains curated records of inspections, preventive maintenance, breakdowns, repairs, equipment readings, and compliance documentation to Support audits and uphold FIVE’s industry-leading reputation.
• Provides technical expertise, mentorship, and guidance to junior ‘FIVERs,’ fostering a Culture of Excellence, Teamwork, and Continuous Learning within the Engineering Department.
• Researches innovative HVAC technologies and Recommends solutions that improve energy efficiency, system reliability, guest comfort, and operational performance.
