The HVAC Technician is a critical member of our facility management team, responsible for ensuring the effective operation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in the facilities we manage. This role requires a strong technical background in HVAC systems, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and servicing of HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, chillers, ventilation systems, and associated components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing appropriate solution.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to enhance system efficiency and prolong equipment life.
- Repair or replace faulty components and parts in HVAC systems, such as compressors, motors, fans, thermostats, and valves.
- Collaborate with suppliers to source replacement parts and materials, ensuring timely availability.
- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements in HVAC systems and recommend adjustments, upgrades, or modifications.
- Assist in the implementation of energy-saving measures to reduce operational costs.
- Maintain accurate records of all HVAC maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements.
- Generate detailed reports on HVAC system status, issues, and recommendations for further action.
- Participate in emergency response teams to address HVAC-related issues promptly and effectively, especially during critical breakdowns or weather extremes.
- Be available for on-call duty to handle urgent HVAC maintenance requests.
- Coordinate with other maintenance teams, engineers, and supervisors to ensure the seamless operation of building systems.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management to provide updates on work progress and potential challenges.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in HVAC systems is preferred.
- Proven experience (typically 2+ years) as an HVAC Technician, preferably in a facility management or related field.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including air conditioning, ventilation, heating, and refrigeration.
- Familiarity with UAE HVAC codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting HVAC system issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills.
- Experience with HVAC testing equipment and tools.
