Job summary

Reeftech Services LLC for TECHNOFLOW TRADING LLC is seeking a TAB Technician to perform testing, adjusting and balancing of HVAC systems to ensure optimal airflow and thermal performance according to project specs. The role requires 2–3 years of TAB experience, ITI/ Diploma in HVAC, and hands-on ability with air-side and water-side TAB tasks.

Candidates should be proficient with TAB instruments, able to record readings, and prepare basic TAB reports.

Qualifications

• ITI/ Diploma in Mechanical/HVAC or equivalent
• 2-3 years’ practical TAB experience
• Hands-on knowledge of air-side TAB including AHUs/FCUs/VAV systems
• Knowledge of water-side TAB for chilled-water systems
• Ability to read HVAC drawings, schedules and TAB test sheets
• Ability to record site readings and prepare TAB reports and inspection sheets

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, adjusting and balancing of HVAC systems to meet design flow
• Measure and record airflow, water flow, pressure, RPM, voltage and temperature
• Adjust dampers, VCDs, PICVs and other balancing devices
• Support consultant/client inspections and resolve basic issues
• Prepare basic TAB reports and inspection sheets
• Ensure safety practices and PPE are followed

Job description

The HVAC TAB Technician is responsible for performing testing, adjusting, and balancing of HVAC systems to ensure optimal airflow, pressure, and thermal performance in accordance with project specifications, standards, and design requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

TAB Technician – Qualification Requirements

• Education: ITI, Diploma, or Technical Certificate in Mechanical/HVAC/Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning or equivalent.

• Experience: 2–3 years’ practical experience in HVAC Testing, Adjusting & Balancing (TAB).

• Air-Side TAB: Hands-on knowledge of airflow measurement and balancing of AHUs, FAHUs, FCUs, fans, VAV/CAV systems, grilles and diffusers.

• Water-Side TAB: Knowledge of chilled-water flow measurement and balancing for AHUs, FCUs, PICVs, DRVs, pumps and related systems.

• TAB Instruments: Proficient in using balometers, anemometers, Pitot tubes, manometers, differential-pressure meters, tachometers and clamp meters.

• Measurements: Ability to measure and record airflow, water flow, pressure, RPM, voltage, current, temperature and equipment performance.

• System Adjustment: Ability to adjust dampers, VCDs, PICVs, DRVs and other balancing devices to achieve design flow.

• Technical Knowledge: Ability to read HVAC drawings, equipment schedules, submittals and TAB test sheets.

• Reporting: Ability to accurately record site readings and prepare basic TAB reports and inspection sheets.

• Inspection & Troubleshooting: Able to support consultant/client inspections and identify basic airflow, water-flow, pressure and equipment performance issues.

• Safety: Knowledge of HSE, PPE, LOTO, work-at-height requirements and safe use of TAB equipment.

• Communication: Basic English communication skills for site coordination and reporting.

• Driving Licence: UAE driving licence preferred.

• Additional Advantage: Experience with ultrasonic water-flow measurement and duct leakage testing is an advantage.
