HVAC Duct Technician

Core Duty

Install repair test and maintain air duct networks

Key Responsibilities

• Installation: Cut fabricate and assemble sheet metal or flexible duct systems based on blueprints and work plans
• Inspection: Check existing ducts for leaks structural damage disconnections or poor insulation
• Sealing Repair: Seal joints and seams using mastic tape or specialized bonding chemicals Replace broken or rusted sections
• Testing: Support air balancing and verify proper airflow distribution across rooms
• Safety: Adhere to local building codes fire regulations and OSHA guidelines on every job site

Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Technical training or certification in HVAC is preferred.
• Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands‑on experience in duct installation or sheet metal work.
• Skills: Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and measurement equipment used in duct fabrication. Able to read blueprints and technical schematics.
• Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight areas like attics and crawl spaces.
• License: Valid driver's license and clean driving record
