Job summary

Khidmah seeks a senior HSEQ Manager to lead health, safety, environment and quality activities for the NYU Project in Abu Dhabi. You will implement HSEQ systems, monitor site compliance, manage incidents, and drive continuous improvement across safety, environmental protection and quality performance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in engineering or related field, NEBOSH IGC, ISO 45001/14001/9001 familiarity, and 8–10 years of HSEQ experience with 5–7 in a supervisory capacity,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, HSE, Environmental Management, Quality Management, Facilities Management, or related field.
  • NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE certification preferred.
  • ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 Internal / Lead Auditor certifications preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; CAFM or HSEQ reporting system knowledge is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • HSEQ Management and Compliance
  • Lead the implementation of HSEQ policies, procedures, plans, and systems across the NYU Project.
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements, contractual obligations, company standards, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor alignment with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and internal management system requirements.
  • Review and update risk assessments, method statements, inspection plans, emergency procedures, and HSEQ documentation.
  • Health and Safety Management
  • Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, risk assessments, and compliance checks.
  • Identify hazards, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and high-risk activities, ensuring timely corrective actions.
  • Monitor the use of PPE, tools, equipment, permits, chemical handling, and safe systems of work.
  • Promote a strong safety culture among employees, supervisors, subcontractors, and service teams.
  • Environmental Management
  • Monitor waste management, recycling, chemical storage, spill prevention, energy use, and environmental controls.
  • Ensure environmental practices comply with client, company, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support sustainability initiatives and environmental improvement programs.
  • Investigate environmental incidents and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
  • Quality Management
  • Ensure service delivery complies with approved SOPs, method statements, checklists, SLAs, KPIs, and quality standards.
  • Conduct quality inspections and audits to verify operational performance and compliance.
  • Monitor non-conformities, service gaps, complaints, and recurring quality issues.
  • Coordinate corrective actions to improve service quality and client satisfaction.
  • Incident and Non-Conformance Management
  • Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, near misses, quality failures, and non-conformities.
  • Identify root causes and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Ensure timely reporting, escalation, documentation, and closure of incidents, NCRs, and corrective actions.
  • Track trends and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Audits, Reporting, and Documentation
  • Plan and conduct internal HSEQ audits, inspections, and management system reviews.
  • Support client, external, and certification audits by maintaining accurate records and evidence.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSEQ reports, dashboards, statistics, and performance summaries.
  • Monitor HSEQ KPIs, audit findings, incident rates, NCRs, training compliance, and inspection results.
  • Training and Awareness
  • Identify HSEQ training needs for employees, supervisors, and subcontractors.
  • Deliver or coordinate inductions, toolbox talks, awareness sessions, campaigns, and quality briefings.
  • Promote hazard reporting, near-miss reporting, and employee participation in HSEQ initiatives.
  • Subcontractor and Stakeholder Coordination
  • Monitor subcontractor compliance with HSEQ requirements, site rules, method statements, and approved procedures.
  • Review subcontractor HSEQ documents, training records, risk assessments, permits, and performance reports.
  • Coordinate with client representatives, project teams, operations, supervisors, subcontractors, and corporate HSEQ teams.

  • Analyze HSEQ trends, audit outcomes, incidents, complaints, and performance data.
  • Recommend and implement initiatives to improve safety performance, environmental control, service quality, and operational efficiency.

Job Purpose

  • Occupational and workplace Health and Safety responsibilities:
  • In addition to all job specific responsibilities, all employees are required to adhere to all Khidmah health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, practices, and relevant legal and statutory health, safety and environmental requirements and obligations. All employees are personally responsible to familiarize themselves with these policies, procedures, practices, updates, etc. Khidmah HSE department regularly updates existing and introduce new policies, procedures and practices and each employee is personally responsible to ensure they stay updated and compliant with all such updates and new additions.
