Job summary

Al Marwan Group is seeking an HSE professional to ensure a safe working environment by implementing and enforcing health, safety and environmental policies across heavy machinery workshop and related sites.

The role involves inspections, incident reporting, training, risk assessments and regulatory compliance to uphold safety standards in the UAE. A relevant degree and NEBOSH IGC are preferred, with 2–3 years of experience in heavy machinery environments.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety Engineering or a related field is required.
• NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE qualification preferred.
• 2–3 years of HSE experience, preferably in heavy machinery workshops.
• Knowledge of UAE labour laws, safety requirements and OSHAD membership is expected.
• Knowledge of Hindi and/or Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily workshop inspections to identify unsafe conditions, equipment hazards, and non-compliance with safety procedures.
• Report unsafe acts, near-misses and incidents; assist in investigations and corrective action follow-up.
• Exercise Stop Work Authority for unsafe conditions and recommend control measures before work resumes.
• Maintain safety documentation, inspection checklists and incident logs.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions and HSE training.
• Assist in fire safety checks, emergency equipment inspections and evacuation drills.
• Support permit-to-work systems for hot work, confined space entry and lifting operations.
• Promote a safety-first culture among workshop staff and mechanics.
• Assist senior HSE staff in audits, risk assessments and regulatory checks.
• Ensure operation and maintenance of heavy machinery and safety equipment per standards (forklifts, cranes, lathes, welding equipment).
• Monitor compliance with Lockout Tagout procedures during equipment maintenance.
• Monitor proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Education

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety Engineering or a related field

NEBOSH International General Certificate IGC or an equivalent recognized HSE qualification

Minimum 2-3 years of relevant HSE experience preferably in heavy machinery workshops

Working knowledge of UAE labour and occupational safety requirements and OSHAD Membership

Knowledge of Hindi and/or Arabic advantageous

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Working knowledge of applicable UAE labour and occupational safety requirements relevant local authority regulations and OSHAD Membership
