Job summary

fäm Properties Dubai is seeking an HSE Officer to implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental policies across projects. You will promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with local regulations and ISO standards.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, NEBOSH/IOSH/OSHA or equivalent, and 2–5 years of HSE experience. You will lead inspections, training, incident investigations, and reporting efforts.

Job description

The HSE Officer is responsible for implementing and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and programs to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role plays a key part in promoting a culture of safety across all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and maintain HSE management systems in accordance with local regulations and international standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure safe work practices.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for corrective and preventive measures.
  • Deliver HSE training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Maintain records of incidents, inspections, and HSE metrics for internal reporting and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety legislation, standards, and company policies.
  • Promote environmental protection initiatives and waste management programs.
  • Provide support during emergency response drills and contribute to emergency preparedness planning.
  • Liaise with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and third-party auditors as required.
  • Participate in HSE meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum \[2-5] years of experience in a similar HSE role, preferably in [construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, etc.].
  • Knowledge of HSE legislation and best practices.
  • Familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and other relevant standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify hazards and implement effective control measures.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE management systems/software.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Working Conditions:
  • The role may require working in outdoor or industrial environments.
  • May involve occasional travel to project sites or facilities.
