Job summary

A leading construction and safety firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced HSE Officer to assist in implementing HSE policies and conduct safety inspections. The ideal candidate should have a diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, HSE certifications, and a strong understanding of UAE safety regulations. Prior experience in an HSE role is required. This is a full-time position and does not offer remote work.

Qualifications

  • 12 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably in construction, oil & gas, or industrial sectors.
  • Good understanding of UAE labor and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.

  • Assist in implementing HSE policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Conduct routine site inspections and audits to ensure compliance.

Job description
  • Assist in implementing HSE policies procedures and practices.

  • Conduct routine site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  • Support in risk assessments and hazard identification activities.

  • Report unsafe practices or conditions to the HSE Officer/Manager.

  • Assist in conducting toolbox talks and HSE inductions for new employees and contractors.

  • Maintain and update safety records checklists and incident reports.

  • Monitor the use of PPE and ensure availability for all site workers.

  • Provide administrative support for HSE documentation and training logs.

  • Help coordinate emergency drills and safety meetings.

  • Participate in accident/incident investigations and support root cause analysis.

Qualifications
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field.

  • HSE certifications (e.g. NEBOSH IGC IOSH Managing Safely) preferred.

  • 12 years of experience in an HSE role (construction oil & gas or industrial sectors preferred).

  • Good understanding of UAE labor and safety regulations.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint).

  • Strong communication and observation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
