Job description
About the job

At Emirates our People Experience team is pivotal in ensuring that we are creating a positive employee experience. At all touch points, from recruitment to on boarding all the way to an employee’s end of service, we are committed to providing an excellent employee life cycle!

As an HR Specialist – Data Science, you will support the People Experience team and “One HR” by applying analytics best practices to enhance employee experiences across the people lifecycle—covering areas like workforce planning, performance, engagement, recruitment, and retention. You’ll collaborate with HR, IT, and ED&A teams to drive data-informed decisions. A background in data science is essential for this role.

>This role is for an experienced Data Scientist with at least 5 years of hands‑on expertise specifically in data science, not just general IT. You will analyse large volumes of structured and unstructured HR data to uncover insights and drive data-informed decisions. Using statistical methods, machine learning, and visualization tools, you will solve HR‑related business challenges and work closely with cross‑functional teams to turn insights into actionable strategies.

In this role, you will

  • Support the HR Manager – Data & Analytics in managing the people analytics demand funnel, aligning with HR’s strategic goals and stakeholder engagement.
  • Participate in requirement‑gathering sessions with internal (e.g., C&B, HRBP, L&T) and external stakeholders (e.g., P&L, IT, Legal, Finance, ED&A).
  • Assist in developing delivery roadmaps across the data value chain—from ingestion to modelling and visualization.
  • Lead development of people analytics data products in collaboration with HR, ED&A, and IT; build and test data ingestion pipelines and domain products within the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP).
  • Maintain and enhance existing data products and models based on evolving business needs.
  • Define key people metrics and develop information products (e.g., dashboards, reports, data science models) to generate actionable insights.
  • Monitor KPI trends and recommend insights to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain and enhance existing dashboards and reports to ensure relevance, accuracy, and business value.
  • Support self‑service analytics enablement by guiding HR stakeholders, data analysts, and power users on best practices and standardised tools.
  • Contribute to analytics capability building by designing and delivering training, workshops, and consultations to upskill HR teams.
  • Promote adoption of advanced analytics and data visualisation through best practices and internal advocacy.
  • Collaborate with the HR Systems & Technology team to align analytics needs with system design, ensuring integration of data across the employee lifecycle.
  • Partner with the HR Governance & Compliance team and ED&A to support data quality, regulatory compliance, and master data governance within the Enterprise Data Platform.

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in data science
  • Proficient in data mining, machine learning, AI, mathematics, and statistical analysis
  • Advanced skills in pattern recognition and predictive modelling
  • Experienced with Python, SQL, Excel, and Tableau
  • Familiar with HR systems (e.g., ERP, P2P, Taleo) and/or airline industry preferred
  • Proven experience in leading transformational initiatives
  • Skilled in project management with a focus on investment, scope, and success metrics
  • Strong relationship‑building and stakeholder engagement across all levels

You’ll have an edge if you have

  • Able to understand diverse user needs and translate them into practical solutions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
