Job summary

Novotel Hotels in Dubai is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Attendant to maintain guest rooms and all public areas to the highest hotel standards. You will perform daily cleaning, stock replenishment, and report any issues to the supervisor.

The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced hospitality environment. You should be comfortable working flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, and be able to work effectively in a multicultural team.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of guest room cleaning and housekeeping procedures.
• Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safe handling practices.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-service oriented with a positive and professional attitude.
• Physically fit and able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform cleaning duties for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain guest rooms, bathrooms, corridors, public areas, and other assigned areas according to hotel standards.
• Perform daily room cleaning, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
• Replenish guest room amenities, toiletries, linen, towels, and other supplies.
• Ensure guest rooms are properly arranged and presented according to established hotel standards.
• Clean and disinfect bathrooms, fixtures, mirrors, floors, and other surfaces.
• Report maintenance defects, damages, missing items, or unusual conditions in guest rooms to the Supervisor.
• Handle guest belongings with care and report lost and found items in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping trolleys, cupboards, equipment, and storage areas.
• Follow health, safety, hygiene, and chemical-handling procedures.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests related to housekeeping services.
• Coordinate with the Housekeeping Supervisor and other departments to ensure smooth guest service.
• Support room inspections and complete any corrective cleaning or maintenance requirements.
• Assist with deep cleaning, spring cleaning, carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning, and other periodic housekeeping tasks.
• Maintain appropriate standards of personal grooming, hygiene, and professional appearance.
• Respect guest privacy and maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Follow hotel policies, housekeeping SOPs, fire safety procedures, and security standards.
• Assist with cleaning and preparation of rooms during high-occupancy periods when required.
• Attend departmental briefings, training sessions, and meetings as required.
• Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.
