Job description

This position is based in Ireland.

Operates heavy goods vehicles (trucks, lorries) to transport goods over long or short distances. Ensures safe and timely delivery, performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and adheres to all road and transport regulations.

Key Duties
  • Operate Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) for the transport of goods.
  • Plan and follow efficient delivery routes and schedules.
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring secure strapping and weight distribution.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks and report defects.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery paperwork.
  • Adhere to tachograph rules, driving hours regulations, and road safety laws.
  • Communicate with dispatchers and clients.
Requirements
  • Valid HGV / Commercial Driver's License (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle class (e.g., Class 1 / CE, Class 2 / C).
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Knowledge of transport laws, hours of service regulations, and vehicle safety.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (if applicable for loading / unloading).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and navigate routes.
