Job summary

Amentum seeks a skilled Heavy Equipment Specialist to maintain and repair roads, drainage, and related areas on a government installation. You will interpret construction drawings, plan resources, and supervise or perform equipment operations to prepare sites for asphalt and concrete works.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 5+ years of heavy equipment experience, and relevant certifications or proven capabilities in crane, forklift, loader, or excavator operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum five years of heavy equipment experience.
• Experience operating or supervising construction equipment for roads/groundwork.
• At least one required certification (OSHA Crane Operator, crane experience, forklift/front-end loader, CTL skid steer, excavator, or chain-link fence work).
• Basic computer skills and ability to read TM instructions and safety rules.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred and Secret Clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Operate construction equipment to finish grade, level, slope, and compact materials.
• Maintain and repair roads, drainage, and related infrastructure on military site.
• Assess work sites, plan resources, and coordinate with civil engineering/base agencies.
• Inspect work for quality and regulatory compliance; ensure safety.
• Possess experience with chain-link fence construction/repair.
