Job description

Health & Wellbeing Manager MEA

As part of the Commercial Strategy team and managing currently a team of two, this critical role owns the design, evolution, and commercialisation of Cigna’s Health & Wellbeing proposition across MEA, ensuring it is structured, scalable, and aligned to client and business priorities.

This role is responsible for evolving our offering from ad hoc event-based activity to a structured, data-led, and commercially relevant wellbeing proposition - supporting client engagement, attraction, retention, and differentiation.

The role combines wellness, business strategy, product development, client advisory, and governance, working closely with Commercial, Clinical, Operations, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Proposition Development
  • Define and continuously evolve the regional Health & Wellbeing strategy aligned to business priorities
  • Translate global capabilities into a locally relevant, commercially viable MEA proposition
  • Develop structured frameworks (e.g., wellbeing calendars, service models, playbooks) to standardise delivery
  • Identify gaps in the current offering and lead development of new solutions
Product & Vendor Management
  • Own the Health & Wellbeing product ecosystem (e.g. digital solutions, EAP, partners), including evaluation, selection, on-going performance management, and lifecycle management including embedding internally within the business
  • Own RFP processes, vendor assessments, and commercial/operational evaluation
  • Ensure all wellbeing solutions are scalable, operationally viable, and aligned to client needs
  • Working with Marketing Dept to define and create impactful and health literate collaterals
Client & Commercial Enablement
  • Act as subject matter expert for Health & Wellbeing across Sales and Client Management teams
  • Support key client conversations, particularly for strategic or complex accounts
  • Develop tools and materials to enable client-facing teams (e.g., playbooks, FAQs, training, proposals)
  • Contribute to client retention, differentiation, and growth through a stronger wellbeing proposition
Program Design & Oversight
  • Oversee design of client wellbeing approaches (e.g., annual plans, thematic campaigns, multi-channel strategies)
  • Provide direction to delivery teams (Wellbeing Coordinators) to ensure consistent, high-quality execution
  • Shift delivery away from reactive events towards structured, insight-led programmes
Data, Insights & Impact
  • Define approach to measuring wellbeing engagement and utilisation
  • Analyse multiple data sources (e.g., client feedback, utilisation, claims insights) to inform recommendations
  • Provide clear, practical insights to internal stakeholders and clients (without over-claiming outcomes)
  • Use insights to continuously refine proposition and priorities
Governance & Process Improvement
  • Establish clear governance for wellbeing services (roles, responsibilities, handoffs across teams)
  • Identify and address operational gaps impacting delivery (e.g., onboarding, transmittals, comms)
  • Ensure alignment between Commercial, Operations, and Product functions
  • Drive consistency and clarity to enable and oversee operational delivery
Internal Stakeholder Leadership
  • Work closely with Sales, Client Management, Operations, Marketing, and Finance
  • Act as the central point for wellbeing strategy and decision-making
  • Build alignment across functions while maintaining clear ownership boundaries
Internal Stakeholder Leadership
  • Lead and develop the wellbeing team
  • Set delivery standards and priorities
Success in this role would be measured against
  • Client adoption of wellbeing proposition
  • Engagement/utilisation rates
  • Contribution to retention / renewal conversations
  • Sales enablement (e.g. usage in proposals)
  • Delivery consistency across accounts
Essential
Capabilities & Experience
  • Proven experience in health & wellbeing strategy, corporate wellbeing, or employee benefits
  • Strong experience in programme design, not just delivery
  • Experience working with clients or stakeholders in a commercial / B2B environment
  • Ability to translate broad concepts into structured, practical framework
  • Strong stakeholder management across multiple functions
  • Experience working with vendors / external partners
  • Clinical background (preferred)

  • Experience in international healthcare, insurance, or employee benefits
  • Exposure to data-driven wellbeing or population health approaches
  • Experience building or evolving propositions in a growing / ambiguous environment
