This role plays a vital part in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental standards are consistently met across all areas of the organization—not only on construction and interior fit-out projects, but also within high-level private initiatives, including client and tenant spaces.
The HSE Officer will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across a wide range of operational settings. They will work closely with site teams, project managers, external contractors, tenants, clients, and internal departments to enforce safety policies and promote a culture of health and safety excellence throughout the company.
- Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific HSE plans in alignment with company policies and UAE regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and toolbox talks to ensure compliance with safety protocols and best practices.
- Identify potential hazards and risks across all operational areas—including construction sites, office spaces, tenant areas, and Chairman-related private projects—and implement preventive and corrective measures.
- Monitor and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce adherence to safe work procedures.
- Lead thorough incident and accident investigations, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain all HSE documentation, including risk assessments, permits to work, inspection records, and safety reports.
- Provide HSE training and awareness sessions to site personnel, subcontractors, and relevant internal stakeholders.
- Liaise with relevant local authorities for inspections, approvals, and compliance with municipal, labor, and environmental regulations.
- Ensure emergency preparedness by conducting mock drills and periodically reviewing and updating emergency response plans.
- Monitor and enforce HSE standards across the entire organization, including client and tenant spaces.
- Deliver internal training sessions on health and safety topics tailored to various departments and roles.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with UAE legal requirements and applicable international health and safety standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE certification is mandatory.
- In-depth knowledge of UAE HSE regulations, including local labor laws, construction codes, and environmental requirements.
- Strong understanding of safety practices in fit-out, construction, and major work environments.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an HSE role within the construction or fit-out industry.
- Proven track record in implementing HSE systems on commercial, retail, or office fit-out projects in the UAE.
- Experience conducting site inspections, hazard identification, and managing incident investigations.
- Familiarity with HSE documentation standards, reporting procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
