Job summary

What you’ll be doing:

The role holder is responsible for participating in the implementation of Health and Safety best practices across the Group ensuring that GMG complies with all the current health and safety (H&S) legislations. The role holder is also responsible for executing the H&S operational tasks including facility visits conducting Health and Safety Inspections conducting Health and Safety Incident Investigations conducting Risk Assessments conducting training sessions conducting emergency drills coordinating with the vendors and the government agencies and regular documentation and reporting for the initiative undertaken by the Department and/or issues/accidents encountered.

What we need:
  • Conduct Health and Safety inspections at designated sites as per the inspection schedule prepare inspection reports and provide management with action plans to address observations.
  • Maintain tracker for open action items and perform follow‑up visits to ensure compliance.
  • Review contractor risk assessments and permit‑to‑work applications providing feedback to ensure alignment with safety standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments for site operations and activities generating comprehensive reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Investigate all reported near misses and accidents performing root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
  • Organise periodic Health and Safety committee meetings with Business Units (BU) to review and enhance H&S performance.
  • Prepare and submit monthly Health and Safety reports detailing completed activities inspection results training sessions conducted and incident investigation analyses.
  • Plan and conduct emergency response drills in accordance with the drill schedule.
  • Contribute to the development of Health and Safety strategies and internal policies ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements international standards and industry best practices.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive Health and Safety program aimed at preventing workplace injuries and property damage.
  • Coordinate liaise with government agencies to stay updated on legislative requirements compliance measures and policy changes. Develop and maintain a legal register to track adherence to all applicable H&S regulations.
  • Stay informed about evolving industry regulations and ministry guidelines ensuring timely communication of updates across departments and the organization.
  • Collect and analyse data on Health and Safety performance metrics for the Group Business Units and Departments generating internal reports for review and continuous improvement.
  • Identify training needs related to Health and Safety and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to organise targeted training sessions and workshops.
  • Provide support to Business Units during emergency situations and assist in crisis management in coordination with authorities and crisis management teams.
  • Act as a liaison with Health and Safety regulatory authorities during site visits and audits.
  • Ensure implementation of H&S compliance requirements in coordination with Business Units and prepare sites for external Health and Safety audits conducted by third‑party certification bodies or client representatives.

Education:
