Job summary

Universal American School in Dubai is seeking an outstanding Head of Social Studies to join our team in January 2027. The role includes Curriculum Leader duties, shaping Social Studies development, and delivering high-quality learning experiences for all students.

The successful candidate will lead curriculum development, assessment, and departmental improvement, foster collaboration and professional growth, and uphold high teaching standards in an international, diverse school environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a closely related field.
• A recognized teaching qualification (B.Ed., M.Ed., PGCE/PGDE, or equivalent).
• Experience leading a Social Studies Department or held a 2ic position and looking for an opportunity to lead in an outstanding school.
• Excellent subject knowledge.
• A strong understanding of inquiry-based, concept-driven, and standards-based teaching and learning.

Universal American School delivers the US curriculum via New York State Standards.
