Job summary

Taaleem invites applications for the Head of Department to lead teaching staff and oversee the delivery of the curriculum in the Department. You will drive quality assurance, raise standards and monitor planning and assessment.

The role reports to the Head of Primary and ultimately the Principal, with responsibility for staffing, budget, and collaboration with cross-school leaders to ensure outstanding teaching and student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and review the curriculum within the department.
• Oversee teaching within the department through schemes of work.
• Monitor data to develop action plans for improving student outcomes.
• Ensure that students' work is regularly assessed and recorded.
• Manage the ordering, storage and use of department resources and budget.
• Oversee staff in the department and advise the Principal on appointments and development.
