Job summary

D24 Fintech is seeking a Head of Cybersecurity to build the security function from the ground up in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. You will own security architecture end-to-end, partner with Engineering to design secure systems from the start, and lead incident response and disaster recovery planning tailored to our risk profile.

You’ll collaborate with Legal/Compliance on regulatory requirements and manage third-party and vendor risk while reporting to the CEO on overall security posture.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building or scaling a security function from near-zero.
• Hands-on incident response leadership with crisis management.
• Strong track record partnering with engineering on secure-by-design development.
• Comfort operating with high autonomy and ambiguity.
• Crypto security experience is required.

D24 Fintech builds the trading and exchange infrastructure that powers forex brokers, crypto exchanges, and capital markets businesses across the region. As Head of Cybersecurity, you’ll build the entire security function from the ground up, starting as a team of one and defining its structure as the company scales. You’ll assess our current security posture, design a risk-based roadmap, and stand up foundational controls around identity, access, credentials, and monitoring. You’ll own security architecture end-to-end, working closely with Engineering to build securely from the start, and lead incident response and disaster recovery planning tailored to our specific risk profile. You’ll also partner with Legal/Compliance on regulatory requirements, manage third-party and vendor risk, and report directly to the CEO on our overall security posture.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and lead the security team as the company scales. This role starts as a function of one, and you’re expected to define the team structure.
• Assess our current security posture across infrastructure, systems, and access controls, and build a clear roadmap based on real risk, not checklists.
• Stand up foundational security controls: identity and access management, credential/key management, monitoring, and incident response.
• Own security architecture end-to-end, partnering closely with Engineering to design systems securely from the start rather than auditing them after launch.
• Design and own incident response and disaster recovery plans tailored to our specific risk profile.
• Partner with Legal/Compliance on any regulatory or security-related licensing requirements.
• Manage third-party and vendor security risk across every integration and partnership.
• Report directly to the CEO and, when relevant, the Board, on our security posture and risk exposure.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven experience building or significantly scaling a security function from near-zero; you’ve done this before, not just managed an existing team.
• Hands-on experience leading incident response for a real security incident, with a clear understanding of the difference between routine response and true crisis management.
• Strong track record working cross-functionally with engineering teams on secure-by-design development.
• Comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy and ambiguity.
• Crypto experience is a must.
