Job summary

Mackenzie Jones Middle East is partnering with a leading UAE-based bank to hire an experienced Senior Credit Risk professional who will oversee credit approval and risk management across Corporate Banking Private Sector and Middle Market portfolios.

You will lead a team of Credit Managers, work with senior stakeholders, ensure compliance with UAE Central Bank regulations and IFRS/ECL considerations, and foster a risk-aware culture while supporting sustainable business growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; CFA, FRM, CMA or related master's is advantageous.
• 8–10+ years of banking experience with Corporate Banking and Credit Risk.
• Experience with UAE Central Bank regulations and IFRS/ECL considerations.

Responsibilities

• Lead credit approval for Corporate Banking Private Sector and Middle Market portfolio; ensure proposals meet internal policies and UAE regulations.
• Oversee due diligence and assessment of complex exposures; identify risks and capital implications.
• Lead, mentor and develop Credit Management team; collaborate with Business, Risk, Legal and other stakeholders on credit proposals and portfolio risk management.

Role Overview

Our client is a leading UAE-based bank seeking an experienced Senior Credit Risk professional to oversee credit approval and risk management across its Corporate Banking Private Sector and Middle Market portfolio.
This role sits at the intersection of credit risk, portfolio management, regulatory compliance, and business growth, ensuring robust credit assessment, effective risk controls, and sound portfolio performance.
You’ll lead a team of Credit Managers, work closely with senior stakeholders across the bank, and help foster a strong risk-conscious culture while supporting sustainable business growth.
The ideal candidate will bring 8–10+ years of banking experience with a reputable regional or international bank, with strong expertise in Corporate Banking and Credit Risk Management. A bachelor’s degree is required, while CFA, FRM, CMA, or a relevant master’s qualification would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the credit approval process for the Corporate Banking Private Sector and Middle Market portfolio, ensuring Credit Proposals meet internal policies, UAE Central Bank regulations and required turnaround times. Oversee credit due diligence and assessment of complex exposures, ensuring key risks, policy or regulatory deviations, IFRS/ECL considerations and capital implications are clearly identified and escalated. Monitor portfolio performance and credit exceptions, including excesses, past dues, expired facilities and documentation or covenant breaches, working closely with Business and senior stakeholders to drive timely resolution. Lead, mentor and develop the Credit Management team, ensuring effective workload allocation, strong technical capabilities and a consistent risk-conscious culture. Collaborate with Business, Risk, Legal, Shari'ah, CAD, Operations and other stakeholders on credit proposals, policy development, audits and portfolio risk management.
