Job summary

Abu Dhabi Ports is seeking a senior leader for Port Marine Operations to ensure compliance with maritime laws, oversee vessel traffic within port limits, and coordinate with government authorities and security agencies. The role focuses on safety, environmental protection, and efficiency in port operations across Abu Dhabi waters.

The successful candidate will possess a strong background in maritime law, navigation, and port administration, with STCW and Chief Mate Certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Law, Navigation, Management / Business Administration or related field; Master's is a plus
• STCW, Chief Mate Certificate of Competency and approved leadership program are essential

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective execution of applicable laws and regulations in the designated port
• Oversee marine movement within Port Limits and report navigational hazards
• Enforce maritime laws and regulations as per UAE and Abu Dhabi Ports Group guidelines
• Collaborate with security teams and maritime authorities to secure the port
• Monitor HSSE licensing system and ISPS compliance
• Review risk assessments and oversee anti-pollution measures and emergency response
• Prepare and present monthly and annual reports on marine operations
• Develop safety protocols and security measures to prevent incidents
• Identify opportunities for infrastructure improvements and port capacity expansion
• Assist in maritime strategy development and departmental budgeting
