Job summary

SGS is seeking a freelance Halal Auditor in Dubai to plan, conduct, and manage audits across multiple premises. The role requires 5+ years in Halal audits under UAE/GSO 2055, with strong knowledge of ISO 19011 and ISO 22000.

You will collect evidence via interviews, observations, and document review, ensuring compliance with regulations and delivering clear reports. Relevant F&B or manufacturing experience and the ability to work independently within deadlines are essential for success in this

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in food-related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years in product/service categories for Halal audits per UAE.S.2055-2.
• At least 2 years in Halal auditing per GSO 2055 requirements.
• Within last 3 years, at least 12 audit days across ≥4 premises under supervision.
• Practical experience in Food & Beverage or food manufacturing.
• GSO/UAE 2055 Halal Lead Auditor requirements and standards.
• Audit principles and techniques based on ISO 19011.
• Knowledge of ISO 22000 and related food safety standards.

Job description

• Apply appropriate sampling techniques during audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Safety, or another relevant food-related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the product/service categories for which the auditor will conduct Halal certification audits, in accordance with UAE.S. 2055-2 and GSO.S. 2055-2.
• At least 2 years of experience in Halal auditing, based on GSO 2055 requirements and Food Safety, supported by relevant audit records or an audit log sheet.
• Within the last 3 years, the auditor should have completed at least 12 audit days across a minimum of 4 premises, under the supervision of a qualified auditor.
• Practical experience in Food & Beverage (F&B) and/or food manufacturing.
• GSO/UAE 2055 Halal Lead Auditor requirements and standards.
• Audit principles and techniques based on ISO 19011.
• Relevant Food Safety Management System standards, such as ISO 22000.
