Job summary

TAAHEED is seeking a Group Financial Controller in Dubai to lead the consolidation, budgeting and five-year plans, coordinating a multinational finance team across Opcos. You will report to the Group CFO and participate in strategic decisions at board level.

The role requires ACA qualification, 10+ years PQE in manufacturing, and strong IFRS and costing knowledge. You will drive internal controls and finance policy implementation across the RFC network.

Responsibilities

• Carry out financial reviews in Opcos to ensure accounts, forecasts, budgets and statutory accounts meet Group policies.
• Ensure effective accounting and internal controls for Head Office and RFC network.
• Coordinate RFC network and implement Group finance policies; standardise best practices in finance procedures.
• Assist with major initiatives (new territories, factories, distributors, JVs); define and deliver processes and resources.

Outstanding opportunity for a qualified, experienced Group Financial Controller to work for a market leading specialty business, based at Dubai global head office

We are looking for a best in class finance professional who can demonstrate a steep upward curve in their career to date, currently working in a Group or Financial Controller role and managing a team in a multi-cultural environment. This role is part of the senior management team, and will participate actively in commercial and strategic decisions, work closely with the Group CFO and Functional/Regional VPs and must have the confidence and gravitas to present at Board level

Key Responsibilities

• Consolidate and report at main board level the internal quarterly management figures, annual budget and five-year business plan
• Co-ordinate Group monthly management reporting, ensure all operating companies (Opcos) meet required financial reporting requirements and deadlines. Provide commentary to summarise Group performance, review and explain variances
• Carry out financial reviews in Opcos to ensure management accounts, forecasts, budget, business plans and statutory accounts are prepared in accordance with the Group policies
• Ensure effective accounting and internal control procedures are in place: directly for Head Office activities and indirectly in Opcos through the Regional Financial Controller (RFC) network
• Co-ordinate the RFC network and implement the Group’s finance policies and procedures. Lead standardisation of best practise in finance procedures through monthly calls and bi-annual meetings
• Assist with major initiatives (new territories, factories, distributors, JVs etc). Define and deliver effective processes, systems and resources to successfully achieve organisational goals

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (ACA) with 10+ years PQE and significant manufacturing industry experience, preferably obtained in a blue-chip multinational group
• Proficiency in IFRS and a solid knowledge of standard costing are essential, as is experience leading system/process improvements, and management of a team with both direct and functional reports
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style are also a prerequisite - this role will be expected to set the example for the Finance Dept by working closely with other head office Depts - Sales, Supply Chain, Technology, Manufacturing, Projects, Legal, IT and HR
• Exposure to emerging markets operations would be a major plus
