Job description

An opportunity has arisen for a highly disciplined Graduate Environmental Consultant (UAE National) to join our offices in the UAE to help deliver environmental projects.

Successful candidates will be working on high profile projects helping some of Middle East’s leading organisations to safeguard the environment for the future.

The successful candidate’s duties and responsibilities will include :

  • Assisting senior consultants with work on a range of projects in the following technical areas : environmental monitoring and baseline surveys, environmental, social and health impact assessments (ESHIA), environmental auditing and construction environmental management plans
  • Undertaking fieldwork activities, including site visits and the collating of site data and information
  • Assisting technical leads in the preparation of reports
  • Compilation of regulatory framework documents containing local, national, and international legislation, standards, and guidelines
  • Carrying out research into environmental issues
  • Assisting with the production of technical and commercial proposals
  • Liaising with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulators
  • Supporting senior consultants with project administration and financial management
  • Contributing to the general running of the office, carrying out office administration tasks
  • Complete timesheets in a timely manner at the end of each week and submit to line manager
  • Aim to achieve utilisation target as agreed with line manager
  • Maintain a personal CPD record and develop / update an RSK format professional CV.
Desired experience and qualities
  • Hold a 2 : 1 or 1st class honours degree in environmental science or related discipline
  • Preferably MSc qualified in a relevant subject
  • Interest or experience in developing specialism such as air, noise or social (advantageous)
  • Professional Membership (advantageous)
  • Some experience working on consultancy projects (advantageous)
  • Some knowledge of UAE environmental legislation
  • Willingness to travel for short periods of time across the region including KSA
  • Excellent English (written and verbal) communication skills
  • Fluency in Arabic (advantageous)
  • Ability to think critically and work proactively
  • Good team player, with the ability to work autonomously
  • Enthusiastic and well organised
  • Full driving license
