Role Context
The Grade 1 Teacher plays a vital role in shaping the academic foundation, confidence, and personal development of young learners. This position supports student growth by delivering inclusive and inquiry‑based lessons that encourage creativity, collaboration, and strong early learning outcomes within a nurturing classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and interactive Grade 1 lessons aligned with school curriculum standards
- Develop creative teaching strategies that promote curiosity, critical thinking, and student participation
- Create inclusive classroom experiences that support different learning styles and student needs
- Differentiate instruction to meet the developmental needs of elementary learners
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success
- Maintain a positive and respectful classroom culture focused on wellbeing and global citizenship
- Monitor academic progress through assessments, observations, and regular feedback
- Collaborate with teaching teams to improve curriculum delivery and learning outcomes
- Participate in parent‑teacher meetings and maintain effective communication with families
- Engage in continuous reflection and professional development to maintain teaching excellence
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor of Education in Elementary or Primary Education or equivalent
- Recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE, PGDE, or teaching license
- Proven experience teaching elementary students, preferably within an American or IB curriculum school
- Strong understanding of inquiry‑based learning and child‑centered teaching approaches
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to create supportive and motivating learning environments
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to continuous professional development and educational excellence
