Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Lead Specialist - Government Affairs in Abu Dhabi to manage regulatory requirements and maintain relationships with UAE government entities. You will oversee labor, immigration, licensing, and Emiratization matters while driving operational excellence across government relations activities.

The role requires strong communication skills in English and Arabic, a Bachelor's degree, and at least five years of Government Relations experience in the UAE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of Government Relations experience within the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of UAE labor, immigration, licensing, and Emiratization regulations.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage employee visas, work permits, Emirates IDs, labor contracts, visa renewals, and cancellations with authorities.
• Coordinate licensing activities including permit applications, license renewals, and document attestations.
• Handle transactions across government portals and systems (MOHRE, ICP, MOFA, ADDED, TAMM, Abu Dhabi Chamber, etc.).
• Liaise with government entities and maintain strong relationships to support business needs.
• Monitor document validity and renewals to ensure compliance.
• Track regulatory changes and advise stakeholders on requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and report activities for compliance and efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to simplify government relations processes and improve employee experience.
• Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
• Mentor team members and promote best practices.
