Job summary

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Laboratory Technology, Civil Engineering, Geology, Geosciences, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Familiarity with testing standards and methodologies, such as BS, ASTM, ISO, BS EN, and ISRM.
• Computer literate, with basic knowledge of laboratory equipment operation and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing on soil, rock and construction materials in accordance with approved standards and procedures.
• Prepare test samples and specimens ensuring proper handling, identification and storage.
• Operate and maintain calibrated laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy, precision and reliability of test results.
• Follow safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Support senior technicians and the Laboratory Manager in specialized testing and reporting.
• Participate in technical training and continuous professional development programs to build technical skills.
