Khalifa University Enterprise invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Genomic Epidemiology and Pathogen Genomics in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on leading large-scale analyses, applying whole-genome sequencing and genomic surveillance to understand pathogen evolution, transmission, and resistance across human, animal, food, and environment settings.

Qualificações

• PhD from a reputable university in Genomics or related discipline.
• Experience of undertaking assigned research tasks and starting to manage own workload.
• A willingness to contribute to a collaborative and supportive team culture.
• Excellent English language communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to function as part of a team working on multiple tasks with competing demands and deadlines.

Responsabilidades

• Lead large-scale genomic epidemiology analyses of bacterial and viral pathogens using whole-genome sequencing.
• Apply genomic surveillance approaches to study pathogen evolution and transmission dynamics.
• Investigate antimicrobial resistance where applicable and track pathogen lineages across One Health settings.
• Collaborate with PhD students and a second postdoc to deliver project objectives.
• Contribute to developing integrated genomic surveillance frameworks for public health and preparedness.
