Job summary

Kanoo Machinery in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly experienced General Technician for forklifts and heavy equipment to join the service team. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain and repair Hyster and Komatsu forklifts, engines, hydraulics, and related systems with minimal supervision.

You will read electrical and hydraulic diagrams, perform preventive and breakdown repairs, identify spare parts, and complete jobs within allocated hours while upholding HSE standards and professional

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience with Hyster and/or Komatsu forklifts, heavy equipment, engine overhauls, and hydraulic repairs.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic diagrams/schematics.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain and repair Hyster Forklifts, Komatsu Forklifts, engines, hydraulic systems and related heavy equipment.
• Diagnose electrical and hydraulic issues by checking machine error fault codes, inspecting wiring harnesses, connectors and electrical circuits, and verifying hydraulic fluid and pressure levels.
• Perform engine overhauls and hydraulic repairs and troubleshooting.
• Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic diagrams, schematics, technical manuals and equipment documentation.
• Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance and repairs to high technical standards.
• Identify required spare parts from technical manuals and provide accurate information for parts ordering.
• Conduct a full functional test after completing repairs to ensure equipment is operating correctly and safely.
• Complete assigned jobs within allocated labour hours and timelines while minimizing rework and customer complaints.
• Maintain safe working practices and comply with HSE policies and applicable regulations.

The position is responsible for independently diagnosing troubleshooting maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy equipment with particular focus on Hyster Forklifts Komatsu Forklifts engine overhauls and hydraulic systems. The role requires strong electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting capabilities technical diagram-reading skills and the ability to deliver high-quality repairs within allocated timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently diagnose troubleshoot maintain and repair Hyster Forklifts Komatsu Forklifts engines hydraulic systems and related heavy equipment
• Diagnose electrical and hydraulic issues by checking machine error fault codes inspecting wiring harnesses connectors and electrical circuits and verifying hydraulic fluid and pressure levels

• Communicate professionally with customers and provide clear updates to the Workshop Supervisor

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience with Hyster and/or Komatsu forklifts, heavy equipment, engine overhauls, and hydraulic repairs.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
• Ability to check and interpret equipment error codes and diagnose issues through wiring harness inspection, electrical testing, and hydraulic pressure/fluid checks.
• Strong ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic diagrams/schematics.
• Ability to work independently and unsupervised across a variety of equipment.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, technically competent, and willing to continuously learn and develop.
• Technical education/qualification in a relevant mechanical/electrical or heavy-equipment discipline.
