Job summary

STRUCTURAL is recruiting a General Superintendent to support projects across the UAE. The role drives high level field management for open shop crews, coordinating with project managers and leaders to ensure safe, efficient execution of concrete repair, masonry restoration, waterproofing and strengthening projects.

The successful candidate will lead pre-planning, assign tasks, monitor progress, and maintain strong client and team relationships while upholding a Safety 24/7 culture.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent. Bachelors degree in Construction management or related field may be preferred.
• 12 years of experience in general construction with at least 5 years in field management at Foreman or Assistant Superintendent level or above.
• Experience in general repair projects: concrete repair, structural strengthening, waterproofing, corrosion control, façade restoration.
• Experience running 3–8 projects simultaneously depending on size and complexity.
• Ability to manage various levels of field managers and oversee divisional field operations.
• Ability to read and execute construction drawings and contract specs; resolve discrepancies.
• Commitment to safety and operating principles; look-ahead schedules and construction documents.
• Strong communication with customers, crews and project teams; solid construction math and computer skills.

Job description

STRUCTURAL offers a wide range of specialty repair and maintenance services and is the largest concrete repair contractor in the United States with roughly 2500 employees working from locations nationwide and in select international markets. STRUCTURAL is the open-shop contracting business line of Structural Group.

We are currently recruiting for a General Superintendent to support projects throughout the UAE.

As a General Superintendent for STRUCTURALyou will be responsible for providing high level field management to other Superintendents Foreman as well as our open shop crews that make our nations structures stronger and last longer. Projects typically consist of concrete repair masonry restoration waterproofing and structural strengthening in Industrial settings.

As a successful candidate you will be also be responsible for:

• Working closely with Project Managers Division Managers and other leaders within the STRUCTURAL

• Participating in pre-project and pre-task planning activities then disseminating planning details to field teams

• Motivating team members to work together to accomplish tasks coordinate work activities with other construction project activities and assign work to employees based on material and worker requirements of specific jobs

• Ensuringcrews are operating all tools and equipment in a safe proper and productive manner

• Providing training and assistance to field managers and crews in the performance of work related tasks

• Assisting Project Managers in evaluating various production rates related to the project

• Completing all essential paperwork in a clear an accurate manner

• Interviewing and hiring of new field employees

• Providing leadership to the CompanysSafety 24/7 culture

Candidates who meet the following criteria may be considered for this exciting position based in our large Operations division:

• High school degree or equivalent. Candidates with a Bachelors degree in Construction management or related field may be given preference.

• 12 years of experience in general construction with at least 5 of those years in a field management role at a Foreman or Assistant Superintendent level or above

• Prior experience in general repair type projects to include: concrete repair structural strengthening waterproofing corrosion control façade restoration

• Previous experience running 3-8 projects simultaneously (depending on size/complexity)

• Proven ability to manage various levels of field managers as well as oversee divisional field operations

• Demonstrated ability to read interpret and execute to construction drawings and contract specifications. Resolving discrepancies as needed.

• Established dedication to safety and ability to display commitment to our operating principles

• Proven experience to produce look-ahead schedules and work with other construction documents as required by the project and leadership

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the customer crew and project teams

• Intermediate computer skills and construction math skills
