About the Company

The General Manager for Special Purpose Vehicle Manufacturing (SPVM) is responsible for overseeing the entire manufacturing process of special purpose vehicles, including planning, production, quality control, and delivery. This role ensures that all manufacturing operations are efficient, cost-effective, and meet the highest quality standards. The General Manager will lead a team of engineers, production staff, and support personnel to achieve production goals and maintain the company's reputation for excellence.

Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Management
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the SPVM division (Special Vehicles / Commercial Trucks / Heavy Machinery) to achieve production targets and business objectives.
  • Oversee budget preparation, allocation, and cost management to maximize resource utilization.
Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, production staff, and support personnel.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities.
Production Management
  • Oversee the entire manufacturing process, from raw material procurement to final product delivery.
  • Ensure production schedules are met and manufacturing processes are efficient and cost-effective.
  • Implement and oversee continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production quality and efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain quality control standards to ensure all products meet regulatory and customer requirements.
Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations and standards and update policies and procedures accordingly.
Customer and Stakeholder Relations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding SPVM operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, logistics, and sales, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Address and resolve any issues or complaints related to vehicle manufacturing and delivery.
Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in vehicle manufacturing.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and adjust strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
Financial Management
  • Develop and manage the SPVM department's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Track expenses, manage procurement of materials and equipment, and negotiate with suppliers for favourable terms.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts for senior management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior management role within vehicle manufacturing/ Commercial Trucks/ Heavy Machinery related industry is mandatory.
  • Min. 7 years in Current position – Defense or automotive experience are a plus.
