Job summary

A luxury hotel in Dubai is seeking a General Accountant. This role involves supervising the finance team, ensuring month-end closing and producing monthly management accounts. Ideal candidates should have a professional qualification or be studying towards one (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) and possess at least 2 years of relevant experience in luxury hotels. Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar capacity at luxury hotels.
  • Sound knowledge of Residence Accounting Operations.
  • Ability to write clear and concise management information reports.

What you'll do

You’ll love what you do and take pride in delighting our guests:

  • As the General Accountant you will assist the Assistant Director of Finance in the supervision, training and oversight of the Finance team, month‑end closing, production of monthly management accounts and analysis, and general ledger reconciliation.

  • You will be responsible to provide support in the policing of adoption of appropriate working practices, based on Uniform System and IFRS.
  • Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations and other government statutory reporting and requirements.
  • You will have sound knowledge and experience on Residence Accounting Operations and understanding RERA regulations.
  • The items shared are the essence of a day in the life of a General Accountant, but we’ll make sure you are provided with specifics on how we care for our hotel.
  • You will be joining a dedicated beach team and will report directly to the Beach Club Management team.
  • Along with your main duties you may be asked to complete other tasks as and when necessary and reasonably required.
  • You may on occasion be required to adjust your hours of work to cover the beach club needs.
  • You acknowledge that working in beach club operations involves exposure to heat and sun, operating under pressure, and requires standing and walking for long periods of time.
