About The Role

As part of Sunreef’s growing operations in Ras Al Khaimah, the General Accountant will manage daily accounting tasks, ensure compliance with UAE VAT and IFRS, and support monthly closings and intercompany reconciliation with our Poland HQ. This role is central to the financial operations of our RAK shipyard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounting & Bookkeeping
    Manage the full cycle of accounting (GL, AP, AR, Bank Reconciliation). Post and process journal entries and adjustments (accruals, prepaid, intercompany). Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions. Ensure timely closing of books (monthly, quarterly, annual).
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable
    Monitor supplier invoices, payment cycles, and follow-up on overdue payments. Issue invoices to clients (vessels sold, engineering services, etc.). Reconcile supplier statements and client accounts.
  • Cash & Banking
    Prepare and monitor bank payments (local and international). Reconcile bank accounts, petty cash, and corporate credit cards. Maintain daily cash flow tracking.
  • Tax & Compliance
    Prepare VAT returns (UAE, Poland if needed) and assist with audits. Ensure compliance with local FTA and freezone regulations. Maintain and update audit schedules.
  • Reporting & Analysis
    Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports. Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities. Provide analysis on variances (actual vs. budget).
  • Intercompany Transactions
    Record and reconcile intercompany charges (e.g., between RAK and Poland). Support group consolidation efforts as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a general accounting role.
  • Experience in marine / manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with IFRS and UAE VAT regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Tally, or ERP systems like Odoo / Navision).
  • Advanced Excel skills.

  • Good communication skills (English required, French / Polish / Arabic a plus).
