Job summary

Talentspoc is seeking an experienced Specialist Gastroenterologist in Dubai to provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of GI and liver disorders. You will lead consultations, perform endoscopic procedures and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

The role requires working in a leading healthcare facility, with emphasis on ERCP/EUS capabilities and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Postgraduate qualification in Gastroenterology (MD/DNB/DM/MRCP/Arab Board or equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years of post-specialization clinical experience preferred.
• Strong experience in gastroenterology and endoscopic procedures.
• Excellent clinical judgment, diagnostic skills and patient-management abilities.
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive gastroenterology consultations and clinical assessments.
• Diagnose and manage GERD, gastritis, IBS, IBD, hepatitis and other GI disorders.
• Perform upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy where trained.
• Perform diagnostic biopsies and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
• Manage GI bleeding and acute GI emergencies.
• Coordinate care with surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, nutritionists and others.
• Counsel patients on diagnosis, treatment options and lifestyle changes.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and participate in audits.

Job description

Our leading healthcare facility is looking for an experienced Specialist Gastroenterologist to provide comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal and liver disorders. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in gastroenterology, endoscopic procedures, and management of both acute and chronic GI conditions. Gastroenterology covers diseases of the digestive tract, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and biliary system.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive gastroenterology consultations and clinical assessments.
• Diagnose and manage GERD, gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, IBS, IBD, hepatitis, fatty liver disease, pancreatitis, and other GI disorders.
• Perform and interpret upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy where appropriately trained.
• Perform diagnostic biopsies and therapeutic endoscopic procedures within the scope of expertise.
• Manage gastrointestinal bleeding and other acute GI emergencies.
• Evaluate and manage liver, pancreatic, gallbladder, and biliary disorders.
• Review and interpret laboratory tests, ultrasound, CT, MRI, pathology, and endoscopy findings.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
• Manage chronic gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions through appropriate follow-up.
• Perform advanced endoscopic procedures such as ERCP, EUS, polypectomy, dilation, or stenting where appropriately trained.
• Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, nutritionists, and other specialists.
• Counsel patients regarding diagnosis, treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and preventive care.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and treatment documentation.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing medical education.
