A leading furniture production company in Dubai is seeking a Production Manager to oversee the entire upholstered furniture development from estimates to delivery. The ideal candidate will have over 4 years of experience in furniture manufacturing, strong communication and organizational skills, and a passion for design. Job description
Responsibilities
  • Manage entire upholstered furniture development cycle from estimate to concept to delivery, and generate accurate client estimates.
  • Create drawings for client approval and frame order/specification.
  • Ensure all frame specifications are met by outside vendors, and manage order, shipping and receipt of frames to upholstery workroom.
  • Oversee production and schedule, including materials, fabrication, and information management, and coordinate final client approvals and delivery/installations.
  • Ensure all documentation, including modifications to estimates, is communicated for final billing, and travel to job sites and vendors as needed.
  • Oversee and manage all scheduling functions of upholstered furniture production, including procurement of materials for fabrication.
  • Communicate various deadlines and status updates.
  • Collaborate with management team on production planning/timelines, ensuring adherence to timelines and that production deadlines are consistently met.
  • Distribute weekly action plans and regular check‑ins with the workroom team to ensure appropriate follow‑through.
  • Procure all necessary production materials and supplies, including frames, foam, fiber, fabric and other supplies.
  • Create and maintain a production process manual with necessary visuals included.
Cost Management
  • Proactively manage department costs to ensure maximum efficiencies and minimization of errors.
  • Effectively, prudently and timely order materials and supplies to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Consistently explore potential new vendors to decrease production costs while maintaining the highest standard of quality.
  • Oversee, general maintenance and organization of department area.
New Product Development
  • Collaborate with management team on long‑term strategic product development planning for the Furniture Division.
  • Assist in generating design concepts for proprietary designs.
  • Assist in developing necessary internal systems to support production of the running line.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of furniture manufacturing.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office; Adobe and AutoCAD a major plus.
  • Positive, upbeat personality with the ability to inspire and motivate staff in a team environment.
  • Strong work ethic, highly organized, detail oriented, and proactive.
  • Excellent communication skills with diplomacy and high level of discretion.
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and the production team.
  • Love for a fast‑paced creative environment.
  • Passion for home / furniture and the design / production process.
