Job summary

Workato is seeking an English-speaking Librarian to manage day-to-day library operations in the UAE, engage with the community, and promote literacy. The role emphasizes customer service, organization, and program development to foster a love of reading among patrons of all ages.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Library Science, English fluency, and strong organizational and communication skills; Arabic proficiency is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Previous experience working as a librarian or in a customer service role preferred.
• Fluent in English (Arabic proficiency is a plus).
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patrons of all ages.
• Familiarity with library databases and automated systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage the circulation desk, including checking materials in and out, answering questions from patrons, and maintaining accurate records.
• Organize and maintain the library's collection of books, audiovisual materials, and other resources.
• Develop and implement engaging programs and events to promote literacy and encourage a love for reading among all age groups.
• Assist patrons with locating materials, conducting research, and utilizing library resources.
• Collaborate with other staff members to develop displays and exhibits that showcase the library's collections.
• Keep up-to-date with current literature trends and recommend new titles for acquisition.
