Job description

Sharjah Digital Department is seeking a skilled Full Stack Engineer to develop and maintain the application layer and integrations that support the Department’s AI products and services. The ideal candidate is hands‑on across the stack with strong front‑end expertise in Angular and a solid back‑end background in Python, and is comfortable building APIs, admin portals, and operational tooling within an Agile environment. Working closely with the AI Engineer, the role brings AI capabilities into production‑grade, reliable, and well‑integrated platform experiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain responsive front‑end interfaces in Angular, translating UX designs into accessible and performant web applications.
• Develop backend services, APIs, and middleware supporting AI applications.
• Build admin portals, operational dashboards, and configuration tools.
• Implement integrations with Digital Sharjah platforms and shared components.
• Design and consume RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and third‑party services, ensuring secure and efficient data exchange.
• Support AI agent deployment, runtime environments, and service orchestration.
• Ensure platform reliability, monitoring, logging, and operational readiness.
• Work closely with the AI Engineer to integrate AI capabilities into the platform stack.
• Containerize and deploy services using Docker and Kubernetes (OpenShift) and support CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and release.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and data‑protection controls, including safe handling of sensitive data and PII.
• Write clean, testable, well‑documented code and take part in code reviews to uphold engineering standards and best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize performance across the front‑end and back‑end layers and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional full‑stack development experience, with a strong track record of delivered web applications.
• Hands‑on, production‑level expertise in Angular (TypeScript, RxJS, component architecture, and state management) for building responsive front‑ends.
• Strong back‑end development background in Python, with experience in frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and integration patterns.
• Proficiency with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) and writing efficient queries.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern DevOps practices.
• Working knowledge of front‑end fundamentals, including HTML5, CSS3, and responsive, accessible UI development.
• Experience integrating AI/ML or LLM‑based capabilities and services into applications is a strong advantage.
• Proficiency with version control (Git) and collaborative Agile/Scrum development workflows.
• Understanding of application security, authentication (OAuth2/JWT), and the safe handling of sensitive data and PII.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills; experience with government digital transformation projects is a plus.
