Job summary

AppliedAI in Abu Dhabi is seeking an AI Full Stack Engineer to join the post‑sales Delivery Team, building and shipping working AI agents directly on client infrastructure using our agentic AI workflow orchestration platform, Opus. You will be embedded with enterprise clients after the sale, owning architecture, integrations, and both frontend and backend, rather than handing designs off to others.

Qualifications

• 3+ years delivering software for enterprise clients in the same role.
• Proven track record shipping production software, ideally with a conversational AI agent.
• Background in workflow automation, systems integration, or AI/ML platforms; regulated industries a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture, flow, state management, and tool-calling design, and implement it yourself.
• Integrate client systems via APIs, webhooks, and middleware with auth and data handling.
• Work across frontend and backend stacks.
• Run QA and maintain a known-issues log before client delivery.
• Support UAT, defect triage, and go-live, with timely issue resolution.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise applications for speed, reliability, and scalability under production load.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and continuous improvement across the Delivery Team.

We are seeking an AI Full Stack Engineer to join our growing post‑sales Delivery Team, responsible for building and shipping working AI agents directly on client infrastructure using our agentic AI workflow orchestration platform, Opus.

In this role, you will be embedded with enterprise clients after the sale, building the agent yourself — architecture, integrations, and both frontend and backend — rather than handing designs off to someone else to implement.

You'll demonstrate strong hands‑on engineering ability alongside comfort operating independently on client premises, balancing fast iteration with the judgement to know when to elevate rather than improvise.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture, Build & Integration

• Own the architecture — conversation flow, state management, reliability, and tool‑calling design, amongst other considerations — and build it yourself.
• Implement integrations against client systems using APIs, webhooks, and middleware, including authentication and data‑handling requirements.
• Work across the full stack, frontend and backend.
• Run internal QA and maintain a known‑issues log before anything reaches the client.

Client Command & Go‑Live

• Run playback, walkthrough, and refinement sessions with client stakeholders, translating technical trade‑offs into terms they can act on.
• Be the primary technical responder during testing and rehearsal — triage issues as they surface and drive them to resolution under deadline pressure.
• Support UAT, defect triage, and go‑live.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code following established best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise applications for speed, reliability, and scalability under production load.
• Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and continuous improvement across the Delivery Team.

Key Requirements

Experience:

• 3+ years combining hands‑on technical delivery with direct enterprise or client‑facing responsibility in the same role.
• A demonstrable record of building and shipping software into production that real users depended on, ideally including a conversational AI agent (chat or voice).
• Background in workflow automation, systems integration, or AI/ML-driven platforms. Regulated‑industry experience is a strong advantage.

Technical Skills:

• Strong hands‑on coding ability across the full stack — able to build and debug both frontend and backend.
• Frontend: React (Next.js), TypeScript, and Redux.
• Backend: Python, with frameworks such as Django, FastAPI, or Flask.
• Practical experience with LLM-based systems: prompt design, retrieval, document extraction, and the failure modes of each.
• Experience building AI agents across both chat and voice, including speech‑to‑text and text‑to‑speech integration.
• Real‑time transport: WebSockets, Socket.io, or SSE, for streaming agent interactions.
• Working experience with REST APIs, webhooks, authentication patterns, and middleware, and a solid grasp of microservice design.
• Relational and NoSQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Containerisation (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), with the ability to deploy onto client‑controlled infrastructure.
• Experience architecting multi‑language applications, including both LTR and RTL layouts.

Soft Skills

• Client communication: comfortable being the only AppliedAI technical voice in the room, and able to absorb scepticism without becoming defensive.
• Proactive ownership — picks up an issue and drives it to resolution, with the judgement to escape rather than improvise when something is outside their control.
• Bias to shipping, including under real deadline pressure.
• Fluent in English and Arabic, with the ability to build and QA software bilingually.
• Willing to travel and work on client premises for extended periods.
