Job summary

Ethara is seeking an experienced Full-Stack Developer to design, develop and maintain enterprise web, backend and mobile applications, focusing on a new POS platform. You will own end-to-end solutions across frontend, backend and database layers, integrating with payment providers and hardware.

The role requires strong expertise in C#/.NET, React, TypeScript, SQL and modern software engineering practices, with emphasis on POS systems, payments and AI-assisted workflows.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience building production-grade full-stack apps.
• Strong experience in C#/.NET, ASP.NET Core Web API, EF Core and REST API development.
• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, JavaScript and modern frontend frameworks.
• 5+ years with .NET and 5+ years with modern React as per JD.
• Experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL; design, queries and indexing.
• Knowledge of Redis, real-time services, SignalR/WebSockets and background processing.
• Experience with payment gateway integrations and POS systems.
• Familiarity with PCI DSS and secure payment architecture.
• Experience integrating POS hardware and Android terminals is a plus.
• Azure, Azure DevOps, Git and CI/CD pipelines exposure.
• AI-assisted development tools experience (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) for structured workflows.

Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Full-Stack Developer to join our technology team and contribute to the design, development and maintenance of enterprise web, backend and mobile applications, with a strong focus on developing a new Point of Sale (POS) platform.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering end-to-end solutions across frontend, backend and database layers, including in-store and mobile checkout systems integrated with payment providers and card-acceptance hardware.

This role requires strong expertise in C#/.NET, React, TypeScript, SQL and modern software engineering practices, along with the ability to build secure, scalable and reliable applications. Experience in POS systems, payment integrations and AI-assisted development workflows is particularly important.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test and maintain enterprise web applications, REST APIs, real-time services and mobile applications.


• Deliver end-to-end features across frontend, backend and database layers, ensuring quality through automated testing.


• Develop and enhance POS functionality, including cart management, pricing, discounts, promotions, VAT, split payments, refunds, voids, cash management and end-of-day reconciliation.


• Integrate payment gateways, acquirers, card terminals, digital wallets and Android-based Tap to Pay solutions.


• Design secure and reliable payment flows, including transaction handling, timeout management, reversals, duplicate-charge prevention and settlement reconciliation.


• Integrate POS hardware, including Android terminals, receipt printers, barcode scanners, cash drawers, customer displays and other peripherals.


• Develop offline-capable checkout solutions with reliable transaction synchronisation when connectivity is restored.


• Build and optimise scalable backend services, APIs and SQL databases to support high-volume transactions.


• Develop responsive frontend applications using React, TypeScript and modern UI frameworks.


• Implement and maintain integrations with external systems, ensuring reliable data exchange, error handling and recovery mechanisms.


• Apply secure coding practices, including role-based access control, audit logging, secrets management and secure authentication.


• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and support application deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting and production stability.


• Collaborate on system architecture, technical specifications, documentation and code reviews.


• Utilise AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality, security and accountability.


• Participate in technical discussions and continuously improve development standards, testing practices and system performance.

Job Specifications

• Minimum 4+ years of experience developing production-grade full-stack applications.


• Strong experience in C#/.NET, ASP.NET Core Web API, Entity Framework Core and REST API development.


• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, JavaScript and modern frontend development frameworks.


• The JD specifies 5+ years of experience with .NET and 5+ years with modern React.


• Experience with SQL Server and PostgreSQL, including database design, query optimisation, indexing and performance tuning.


• Knowledge of Redis, real-time services, SignalR/WebSockets and background processing.


• Experience with payment gateway integrations, POS systems, retail technology or financial transaction processing is strongly preferred.


• Familiarity with card-present payment terminals, payment APIs, refunds, reversals, tokenisation and settlement reconciliation.


• Working knowledge of PCI DSS principles and secure payment architecture.


• Experience integrating POS hardware, including Android payment terminals, receipt printers, barcode scanners and peripheral devices, is an advantage.


• Android development experience using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and offline-first application architecture is preferred.


• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps, Git and CI/CD pipelines.


• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks, secure coding standards, monitoring and observability tools.


• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot, within structured engineering workflows.


• Ability to develop clear technical specifications, critically review AI-generated code and maintain ownership of final deliverables.


• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
