Job summary

Neuroscale is building an AI recruiting operating system to unify talent workflows. We seek a backend engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable services using TypeScript and NestJS in a fast-paced startup environment.

You will design REST and GraphQL APIs, manage data with PostgreSQL and Redis, and integrate AI pipelines and third-party APIs while improving authentication, authorization, and system observability.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building production-grade backend systems.
• Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js and NestJS.
• Experience designing RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Strong PostgreSQL/Redis skills and caching strategies.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services using TypeScript and NestJS
• Develop and document robust REST and GraphQL APIs
• Work with PostgreSQL and Redis to manage structured and real-time data
• Collaborate to integrate AI pipelines, inference systems, and third-party APIs

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building production-grade backend systems
• High proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS

• Proficiency with PostgreSQL, Redis, and caching strategies
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Git
• Ability to thrive in a high-ownership, fast-paced startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building secure auth systems like OAuth2 or SSO
• Familiarity with async patterns, workers, or event-driven systems (BullMQ, RabbitMQ)
• Exposure to AI/ML tooling, vector databases, or real-time inference workloads
• Experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise-scale backend platforms
