Job summary

Ghobash Group is seeking a Mechanical Foreman with strong leadership to oversee ductwork, piping, and HVAC installations on Oil & Gas construction sites in Abu Dhabi. You will supervise fitters and helpers, assign daily tasks, monitor quality, safety, and progress, and report to the Mechanical Supervisor.

Outdoor work and overtime may be required, with adherence to HSE policies and permits. Candidates should hold a Diploma/ITI in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC and have 5–8 years of experience,

• Diploma or ITI/Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in mechanical/HVAC construction.
• Experience as a Mechanical Foreman in Oil & Gas projects.

Job Description

• Lead and direct duct fitters, pipe fitters, insulators, and helpers in carrying out daily construction activities.
• Assign daily tasks to the workforce as instructed by the Mechanical Supervisor and monitor their performance.
• Supervise the installation of HVAC equipment, ductwork, chilled water piping, refrigerant piping, ventilation systems, and related mechanical components.
• Ensure the proper use of tools, equipment, and materials at the worksite.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure installations meet the required quality standards.
• Coordinate with the Mechanical Supervisor to ensure work progresses according to the project schedule.
• Report daily work progress, manpower utilization, material shortages, and site issues to the Mechanical Supervisor.
• Ensure all personnel comply with company HSE policies, permit-to-work requirements, and safe working practices.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Verify that materials issued for installation are used efficiently and report any shortages or damages.
• Maintain good housekeeping and ensure the work area remains clean and free from hazards.
• Assist in testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities as directed by the Mechanical Supervisor.
• Ensure punch list items assigned to the work crew are completed within the required timeframe.
• Immediately report safety hazards, quality concerns, and technical issues to the Mechanical Supervisor for resolution.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI/Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or a related discipline.
• Relevant trade certification is preferred.
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience in mechanical/HVAC construction.
• Experience as a Mechanical Foreman in Oil & Gas projects.

Additional Information

• Must be able to work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
• Will be required to work on high platforms or confined spaces, adhering strictly to safety standards.
• May be required to work overtime or extended shifts based on project deadlines.
