As a Food and Beverage Supervisor, you’re not just overseeing the seamless execution of daily F&B restaurant operations – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.
Responsibilities
Here’s what you’ll do during a typical day:
- Supervise F&B Operations
- Supervise the operations of the food and Drink venues, ensuring consistent adherence to service standards.
- Delegate tasks and ensure team members understand their responsibilities, aiming for smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Ensure the F&D operations are in compliance with brand standards and operational guidelines.
- Team Development
- Actively develop team members’ skills through coaching and training to improve service delivery and performance.
- Participate in the interviewing, selection, training, and evaluation of team members, ensuring that employees meet performance expectations.
- Assist in the preparation and review of annual and mid-year appraisals for team members under your supervision.
- Guest Satisfaction
- Manage guest queries in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that customer feedback is actively solicited and implement strategies to continuously improve the guest experience.
- Operational Compliance
- Oversee the compliance with HACCP policies and ensure that all operations meet safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Ensure that F&D outlets comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, as well as company procedures related to financial record-keeping, money handling, and operations.
- Supervise inventory management, ensuring that supplies such as linen, glassware, silverware, and condiments are stocked and maintained.
- Financial Targets & Profitability
- Assist in achieving the financial targets for the F&D department, focusing on profitability and efficient cost management.
- Ensure daily revenue closeouts are executed properly, including completing financial reports and inventory checks.
- Participate in the development of marketing efforts, including creating menu ideas, and monitoring competition and food trends to drive innovation.
- Team Management
- Ensure shift handovers are conducted professionally and constructively.
- Address issues such as call-offs, tardiness, and last-minute problems, ensuring smooth operations across shifts.
- Ensure employees are adhering to proper break procedures and following guidelines to maintain smooth operations.
- Supportive Functions
- Attend mandatory meetings (department meetings, staff meetings, etc.) and ensure clear communication throughout the team.
- Use software programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) to complete administrative tasks as required.
- Participate in monthly inventory procedures and ensure inventory levels are accurately forecasted and maintained.
- Handle team relations and ensure a collaborative, harmonious work environment.
- Ensure team members are aware of daily log book entries for smooth communication between shifts.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience or delegation of responsibilities in an F&D environment.
- Willingness to develop team members and contribute to their professional growth and performance.
- Experience working in a hotel industry is highly advantageous.
