Job summary

Edge Group is seeking a Flight Test Engineer II to lead and support the planning, execution, and analysis of flight test activities for aircraft and weapon system integration. Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering.
• 5+ years of flight testing experience.
• Experience with aerodynamics, flight mechanics, aircraft and weapon systems.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance MIL-STD and interface control documentation.
• Advanced knowledge of flight test management systems.

Responsibilities

• Designing detailed test plans based on the test objectives, including performance, stability and safety aspects.
• Conducting the flight tests, which may require being on board or in a control room monitoring parameters.
• Reviewing data collected during flight tests to assess integration against expected outcomes.
• Identifying and diagnosing issues and proposing solutions during the test phase.
• Preparing comprehensive reports documenting objectives, results, conclusions and recommendations.
• Collaborating with pilots, engineers and manufacturers to ensure safe and effective tests.
• Ensuring all tests comply with safety standards and regulations.
• Providing technical support to engineering teams based on test outcomes.
• Managing the flight test phase including scheduling, resources and budgeting.
