Job summary

Naffco in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Hydraulic Engineer – Fire Trucks to design and develop hydraulic systems for fire trucks and specialist emergency vehicles, prepare schematics and BOMs, and select components. You will coordinate with chassis, PTO, pumps, valves, and other teams to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant designs, and provide technical support through build, testing and commissioning.

The role requires strong knowledge of hydraulic circuits, pumps, valves, cylinders, piping and fluid

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; or diploma with substantial experience.
• Training or certification in fluid power or hydraulic systems is an advantage.
• Experience with hydraulic components and system design is essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop hydraulic systems for fire trucks and special applications.
• Prepare hydraulic schematics, layouts, BOMs and specifications.
• Select and size pumps, valves, cylinders, reservoirs, and related components.
• Review project specifications and client requirements to propose suitable solutions.
• Perform hydraulic calculations for flow, pressure, power and system capacity.
• Coordinate interfaces with chassis, PTO, firefighting pumps and electrical controls.
• Ensure layouts enable safe operation, service access and space efficiency.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, testing, commissioning and fault diagnosis.
• Maintain accurate engineering records and support design reviews.
