Job summary

Tanqeeb in the United Arab Emirates seeks an AutoCAD Draughtsman specialized in fire protection to produce detailed shop drawings and installation layouts. You will interpret designs, coordinate with multi-discipline teams and deliver accurate documentation in compliance with NFPA and local authority requirements.

Responsibilities include creating detailed drawings, revising them per comments, and supporting site teams with updated documents.

Qualifications

• Diploma/technical qualification in Drafting, Mechanical or Fire Protection fields.
• Experience as AutoCAD Draughtsman or Fire Protection Draughtsman.
• Proven experience producing drawings for fire fighting, fire protection, sprinkler, life-safety or related MEP systems.
• Experience with fire fighting shop drawings, coordinated layouts, installation and as-built drawings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, including layers, blocks, references, annotation and standards.
• Knowledge of NFPA, BS codes and local authority requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed AutoCAD drawings for fire fighting and fire protection systems, including sprinklers, risers, hydrants, hoses and pumps.
• Develop plans, sections, elevations, isometrics, installation and builders’ work drawings.
• Interpret designs, specifications, equipment schedules and coordinated MEP drawings.
• Produce layouts with pipe sizes, elevations, flow directions and equipment locations.
• Prepare shop drawings for approvals from consultant, client and authorities.
• Revise drawings based on comments and changes.
• Coordinate drawings with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing teams.
• Identify clashes and resolve discrepancies with engineers and project teams.
• Participate in design and coordination meetings and provide installation input.
• Support site teams with updated drawings and technical clarifications.
• Prepare material take-offs, schedules and other project documents.
