Job summary

HELEMEC ELECTROMECHANICAL WORKS is seeking a skilled Fire Fighting Technician to install and commission fire protection systems on UAE construction sites. You will work with piping, sprinklers, hose reels, wet risers and fire pumps, reading shop drawings and coordinating with site engineers.

The role requires at least 2 years of UAE experience, familiarity with Civil Defence standards, and the ability to work safely on site. A physically fit team player who can operate independently is ideal.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Fire Fighting system installation and maintenance in the UAE.
• Familiarity with UAE Civil Defence requirements and Fire & Life Safety standards.
• Physically fit and able to work on construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Install firefighting piping systems including sprinkler, hose reel, wet riser and fire pump systems.
• Perform pipe fitting, threading, grooving and installation per approved shop drawings.
• Install and connect valves, pumps, sprinkler heads and other firefighting components.
• Carry out testing and commissioning of firefighting systems.
• Troubleshoot and rectify defects during installation and maintenance.
• Read and interpret shop drawings and project specifications.
• Ensure compliance with UAE Civil Defence regulations and project requirements.
• Coordinate with site engineers and supervisors to complete tasks on schedule.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

• Good knowledge of sprinkler systems, hose reel systems, wet risers and fire pump installations.
• Ability to read and understand Fire Fighting shop drawings
• Experience in hydrostatic testing and system commissioning is an advantage
• Familiarity with UAE Civil Defence requirements and Fire & Life Safety standards
• Physically fit and able to work on construction sites
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
